Material & Appliance Listing

Having a product evaluated to market and sell in the marketplace is oftentimes essential in the competitive world of building products. A quality system audit and product listing from our team provides the manufacturer documentation of compliance with applicable code bodies and standards, as well as giving peace of mind to AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and the end-user.

We have decades of experience as an evaluator of manufactured housing and modular building products, in addition to a wide range of building products used in all aspects of building construction.

Partial list of products that have been listed by us:

Roofing Underlayment Metal Straps Pier Supports Metal Roofing Bottom Closure Board
Recycled Axles Foam Plastic Insulation Gas Appliances (refrigeration units, ovens, deep fat fryers, griddles, steam tables, coffee urns) Decorative Gas Log Sets Electric Appliances (refrigerators)

Consultation for Evaluation & Certification Services

New products are constantly being developed, many of which do not directly meet existing building code requirements such as the International Building Code (IBC), existing Acceptance Criteria, or Evaluation Criteria. Twining Consulting helps manufacturers navigate this complex process and bring their products to market efficiently through expert evaluation, testing, and certification support.

Our team of experienced engineers and technical specialists provides comprehensive assistance throughout the entire approval and certification journey — from developing new test protocols and evaluation criteria to managing the full certification process. As an accredited ISO/IEC 17065 Product Certification Body, ISO/IEC 17020 Inspection Body, and with in-house ISO/IEC 17025 testing support, we offer a true end-to-end solution under one roof.

Our Typical Five-Phase Program:
Phase 1: Product & Code Review
Our team will thoroughly review your product literature, material properties, existing test data, and engineering documentation. We will analyze applicable Building Codes, Evaluation Criteria, and Acceptance Criteria to identify all necessary requirements and determine the most efficient path to certification.
Phase 2: Scope & Proposal
Once the evaluation plan and scope of work are clearly defined, we will prepare a detailed cost proposal outlining the complete program, timeline, and deliverables.
Phase 3: Implementation & Coordination
We execute the approved program, including testing, inspections, and documentation. Our team maintains continuous coordination with your company and manages all technical communication throughout the process.
Phase 4: Submission & Resolution
The complete certification package is prepared and submitted. We respond to all agency questions or comments and provide ongoing consulting support to keep the approval process moving forward as quickly as possible.
Phase 5: Certification & Ongoing Compliance
Upon successful review, we issue the Listing Report or Evaluation Report under our ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation. The manufacturing facility will receive initial and ongoing surveillance inspections. We implement a follow-up testing and reporting program with continuous monitoring to ensure consistent code compliance and product quality.

Evaluation Reports for Construction Products

A Code Evaluation Report is an important tool when responding to code officials, engineers, architects, specifiers, and even consumers who may have questions regarding your product’s compliance. With this report, you can show buyers how your product meets applicable code requirements.

Manufacturers who take advantage of our close working relationship and familiarity with Building Code Agencies benefit from the combined strengths of both organizations. This combination offers the following advantages:

  • Universal Recognition of Building Code Agency – offers easy acceptance of products by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Wide-Ranging Market Exposure for Construction Products – offers a network of customers, code officials, architects, specifiers, media channels, and corporate partnerships.
  • Collaborative Efficiencies – offers project startup conversations with the Code Body (Such as ICC-ES and IAPMO) to determine the scope and the testing requirements and work together toward faster report completion and delivery.
